Sketches of Ironing Tools

Pencil sketch of an iron on a table

The purpose of this exercise was to see the effect of low, middle, and high horizon lines on composition. I only used one object for each part of the exercise, but I got a lot of good practice drawing from observation and using construction lines.

I spend a lot of time ironing, so that is why I picked these items as subjects.

  1. These look great! I remember doing line drawings for an art class and being frustrated that I wasn’t allowed to add shading—do you feel that at all, or does this feel like the perfect type of exercise for you at this time?
