Sketch of a Camera

The purpose of this exercise was to improve using horizon lines below the subject. I used a low horizon line to place the camera on top of a table. The illusion is fragile.

This sketch gave me a lot of trouble. I was drawing from observation and I could not get the proportions right. I placed a piece of tape on the ground to help me keep the same distance from the camera, but I believe I was still leaning forward and backward. My hands were also a bit shaky – probably from staying up much too late last night playing video games.

I did enjoy the irony of working so hard to sketch a camera.
