This was a small compositional study of a high horizon. I wanted to show the tulip on the surface of a table. The line creates that illusion. Otherwise, the viewer could see the tulip falling through the air. I suppose the viewer could still see that, the tulip underwater, or some other situation.

This tulip was cut from my garden. I cut it longer, and it has two leaves. I’ll put it in a vase on the table until someone complains of an allergic reaction.
